Siobhan McGinnity

Siobhan McGinnity

Siobhan is from the other side of the tracks; she’s a musician (judge her, judge!). She sits behind a dark, 88-keyed instrument improvising tunes for The Improv Conspiracy and The Big HOO-HAA! Melbourne and never dreamt one day she might cross to the other side, improvising words instead of melodies. Well, one autumn day (approximately May 21st, 2013), whilst watching her colleague’s laugh and play, she finally decided it was time; time to take her first steps and IMPROVISE THE FUNNIES.

And with that terrifying thought, she tried.

Several months later, Siobhan graduated from TIC and is now on her first Harold team! She couldn't’ be more surprised or delighted. Before attempting to be humorous she passed through several phases of creative outlet, including singing her heart out in amateur musical theatre (MESH Theatre Company, WA), pretending to be serious (Wasted on the Young) and writing/performing her own classical and contemporary music.  Don’t be fooled by her demeanour though, she is a full-blown scientist and rapidly losing her ability to socialise. It’s certain Improv remains her only cure for not taking the world too literally. Will it work? Will she regain her love of the ridiculous? You’ll have to watch this space.
