The latest news, opinions and more!
January, 2011. I'd reached a point in my life where I had to 'do something.' A friend of mine had been talking about a bus tour of New Zealand for a while, so I was like, “Do you know what? Yes. Let's do it!”
Shortly thereafter, I had booked, paid for and sat through the uncomfortable plane rides to New Zealand. Rides? Well, being all the way from WA I had to stop through somewhere. I was a member of Perth's long standing impro group, "The Big Hoo-Haa!" so I figured I'd make the most of it and pop in to visit our fledgling cousin, "The Big Hoo-Haa! Melbourne."
Every Wednesday evening I get on the number 96 tram in the city with all the commuters heading home at peak hour, which is great for people watching. There’s just something entertaining about watching a varied group of people being forced to stand closely to one another and avoid interaction. It’s a perfect opening act into what is sure to be a night of laughter and learning at Improv Conspiracy’s Harold training sesh.
The Improv Conspiracy was founded approximately one year ago, and as we prepare for the imminent Melbourne Fringe Festival I can proudly say that I've never been more excited about where we've been, where we are and where we're going.
