Free info and Q&A sessions about our sketch comedy writing program run once per month via Zoom
Each session is hosted by one of The Improv Conspiracy Theatre's most enthusiastic sketch comedy writing instructors, who all write and perform regularly at our theatre and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
You'll watch some famous filmed sketches and break them down using the analytical techniques and terminology used by professional comedians. Next, we'll introduce you to a few brainstorming tools designed to generate comedic ideas on demand, without needing to wait for that perfect comedic idea to come to you in your dreams.
It's just a small taste of what a full 8-week class would entail, to help you decide if our program is right for you.
There's no prior writing or comedy experience required to participate!

You'll leave each class term with a solid body of work – original comedic sketches that you've written over the previous 8 weeks
Acting is optional – some people may choose to perform their own material, while others may prefer to write roles for their classmates to act in
All classes include opportunities to test bits of your material on stage in front of a live audience at shows like Sketch Lab
Upon completion of the program, you'll collaborate with your classmates to put on an original hour-long sketch comedy show, to amaze your friends and family.
Anyone is capable of developing relatable comedic ideas that are worth writing down and sharing—yes, even you! To prove it, we're offering a free session to help you get you acquainted with the basics of sketch comedy.
